Fall in the Shenandoah Valley


At least once a year, we are lucky enough to meet up with one of Winchester's sweetest families! The Vickers Family honors us with a lovely afternoon every Fall for their tradition of capturing family photos. We are lucky enough to see some of the most gorgeous weather and colors whenever we have our sessions, and we just know it's meant to be! Watching them grow as a family is an honor we are so thankful for! It's amazing how tall little Jacob has gotten in a year, and I just know it won't be long before he too towers over me in height! As he grows into the most awesome little man, he lets his personality shine in our photo sessions and gives us all such a fun time! From the beginning, our photo sessions with the Vickers' have always been so much fun! I am so proud of little Jacob for carrying on the tradition. At it's core, life is all about joy, love, and laughter...which we see in abundance with this family ❤️


We met for our annual fall photo session at our favorite location: The State Arboretum of Virginia, in Boyce, Va. This location has been a favorite for years, and is a favorite of many, MANY locals and people in the area. This makes conducting photo sessions somewhat of a challenge during peak times, and this photo session took the cake! We picked the most popular day to have our session, and the overflowing parking lots let me know that we were going to have ot do a lot of maneuvering around people! Luckily, all of the photographers at the park had the same idea in mind--work together to share the space and act as a cohesive team. I was so happy to feel like I had all of these teammates that I had never even met...each of us sharing nods and waves as we worked together to stay out of each others backgrounds! That's just the type of positivity we like to bring to the session, and we are so grateful to have shared it in so many ways during this amazing evening.


We strolled the grounds of the arboretum until we reached our favorite spot that included Gingko trees and a lovely skyline. It was such a treat to get to capture these lovely moments that are sure to be a core memory for Jacob...and for the rest of us too!
